Maison la Lanterne

Nestled in a peaceful village in the Franche-Comté region of eastern France, Maison La Lanterne is a lovingly restored 19th century house for those seeking comfort, authenticity and a slower pace of life. Open all year round, Maison La Lanterne offers something special in every season. In the warmer months, the river is just 50 metres from the house, perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding or fishing. We provide two kayaks free of charge so you can make the most of your time by the water. When the days grow colder, settle in beside the fireplace and enjoy the peaceful countryside views from the warmth of the house. A traditional wood-fired Nordic hot tub is planned for 2027, adding another way to unwind and reconnect with nature. The house comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests across three spacious bedrooms, two of which overlook the beautiful countryside and river. The dining and living areas invite you to gather around the table, share long meals and spend cosy evenings together. The spacious, fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare anything from a simple breakfast to a feast for the whole family. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower downstairs, and a second one upstairs with bathtub and shower. PLEASE NOTE: There is only 1 toilet in the house, on the first floor. In the garden, each of you will find your own quiet corner, whether you prefer soaking up the sunshine, relaxing in the shade or enjoying a barbecue with a beautiful view as your backdrop. Franche-Comté remains one of France's quieter, less-discovered regions, where rolling countryside, charming villages, local markets and unexpected treasures await, far from the busiest tourist routes. Spend your days exploring the surrounding area, discovering local food and markets, or simply following the road to see where it takes you. Switzerland and Germany are also within reach for memorable day trips.
