By choosing local materials and making thoughtful construction decisions, we aimed to reduce unnecessary transportation and environmental impact while supporting local suppliers and craftsmanship. Energy efficiency was equally important. Carmagnac benefits from high levels of thermal insulation, modern double glazing, an energy-efficient heat pump, intelligent temperature controls and LED lighting throughout. These technologies help minimise energy consumption while providing exceptional comfort throughout the year. Our approach extends beyond the building itself. We value the surrounding countryside, its wildlife and natural biodiversity, and encourage guests to explore the beautiful Charente region, its traditional markets, independent restaurants and local producers. We believe genuine sustainability comes from practical decisions rather than grand promises. Preserving an existing building, using natural and local materials, investing in efficient technology and supporting the local community are all part of our philosophy.
